Prior To The Treatment

As it is with any procedure, there is always some risk involved. The possible risks and side effects will be discussed with you by our qualified practitioners. However, the majority of procedures are carried out with no complications. Any concerns you have can be discussed with us at any time.

When choosing an aesthetic practitioner, it is important that the professionals have recognised qualifications that give them an excellent understanding of anatomy (body structure) and how the body and treatments work together. At Omega Derma, all our practitioners have had years of education and training in the clinical and medical field, ensuring you are treated to the highest of standards.

You don’t need to do anything specific, but if unsure about something, speak to your aesthetic practitioner before you come in for your treatment, they will be happy to answer your questions.

Yes, please inform your aesthetic practitioner of any previous use of permanent products or body enhancing products that you have used.

Some aesthetic treatments should not be used in conjunction with skin treatments, for example, laser or dermabrasion treatment.

Speak to your aesthetic practitioner if you are unsure.

Yes, you must inform your practitioner of any allergies you have. For example, let them know if you are allergic to hyaluronic acid.

This depends on what you want. There is information in the relevant section of our website about each of the products.

Our dermal fillers are of the highest quality and are well known.

Our practitioners will help you decide which is best for you to ensure treatment is tailored to you.

In the majority of our patients, only one syringe is needed.

Our practitioners will advise on the amounts you may need, but as always, this will be discussed in-depth with you.

The Treatment

The initial consultation can take as long as you need! We understand that everyone has questions and concerns. At Omega Derma, we are happy to help you with any questions you have. Generally the initial consultation can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 30 minutes.

The procedure itself can take up to 45 minutes; depending on what you want, which means we can have you on your way within the hour!

There may be some slight discomfort; however, the practitioners at Omega Derma will speak to you about using a well-known numbing cream before the treatment. This will help to reduce the discomfort.

With the dermal filler products, the majority of our brands also contain a local anaesthetic (lidocaine); which helps to numb the area being injected, helping to reduce the discomfort.

Our qualified aesthetic practitioners using advanced injection techniques, to further reduce the discomfort of the injections. We pick our injection sites strategically, which means we inject minimally to create the desired effects.

As with any treatment, there is always the possibility of experiencing side effects. But rest assured, our dedicated practitioners will be available to speak to if you need advice.

With any injection, there is always the risk of temporary swelling at the injection site, some slight bleeding and bruising. This will usually settle within a week.

Our practitioners will speak to you about the best way to minimise this. (Please see post treatment advice).

Right after your filler is injected, the area may sometimes appear larger than the actual desired effect; this is due to the swelling around the injection site area. Once the swelling goes down within 2 – 3 days, you will see the true effect.

We use aseptic procedures when carrying out your treatment. Our practitioners have completed years of rigorous education to be able to understand the principles of minimising infection. In the unlikely event that you do acquire a local skin infection, our qualified practitioners will be available to see and speak to. They will be able to prescribe something for the infection if needed. This is why it is important to have your aesthetic procedures completed by practitioners that are able to provide you with holistic care if need be.
